Uphold the Law for a Rewarding Career

We've seen enough movies and TV shows to understand that a cop's life can be really exciting.  A typical day for a policeman or law enforcer could involve so many thrills, from chasing bad guys, solving crimes, and patrolling the streets to keep them safe.  But did you know that law enforcement is also one of the most recession-proof industries in the country?

According to John Challenger, CEO of the outplacement firm Challenger, careers in law enforcement will continue to be in demand despite the economic lull that the country is currently experiencing.  Challenger emphasized that crime “doesn’t stop during a recession, and police officers, port security specialists and international security experts will continue to be in demand".  Even the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics agrees with Challenger.  In its most recent report, the bureau stated that job openings for policemen and detectives (as well as other jobs in law enforcement) are expected to grow by 11 percent within a decade.  This growth is considered to be faster than that of other jobs, mostly because a large majority of Americans have begun to make safety and security their top priority.   Not only that -- baby boomers who are about to retire from this industry will open up more jobs in law enforcement for newcomers all over the country.  In fact, it's predicted that by 2016, a total of 959,000 jobs in law enforcement will be created for local and federal departments.

Take a degree in law enforcement now! You can have a rewarding and stable career as a policeman!

If you’re interested in joining this industry, you must have graduated from high school at the very least.  To gain an edge when you apply in local and federal law enforcement agencies, you must also earn a degree in criminal justice, police science, or justice administration.  These courses are offered by various colleges, universities, and even by online institutions!

Join the police academy!  Have an exciting career by protecting your fellow citizens and society.  Fight crimes and chase villains like a superhero. Aside from having a rewarding job, you can get a median annual earning as high as $59,880!
