Summer is over but Internships are here to stay

All summer, you partied with your friends went on idyllic holidays, and relaxed in the beach while waiting for school to start.  But as classes began to draw near, you realized that you missed one item in your summer checklist.  Whatever happened to that internship you were supposed to apply for?  Is it too late to start sending out your applications?  Well, there's no need to worry!  Summer isn't the only time for internships, and you'll find that a lot of them are still being offered during fall.

According to a recent survey conducted by CBcampus.com, 61 percent of human resource managers across the country will start hiring college graduates for internships this fall.  Nathan Lippe, senior career adviser of CBcampus.com emphasized that "It's never too early to start thinking about internships. There are great deal of opportunities that exist as long as you take the time to search and apply".  That’s why recent graduates and undergraduates alike need to take advantage of this opportunity.  With the current problems of recession, job lay-offs, and stiff competition among job applicants, securing a fall internship can be your stepping stone for full time employment in the future.

So this coming fall, instead of applying for a part time job, you can take a new direction and apply for a fall internship.

Earning a fall internship not only gives your resume a big boost -- it can also help you save time in searching for a job once you step out of college.  Internships increase chances for students for immediate and long-run hiring compared to others.  From the same survey, 59 percent of these hiring managers already hired their past interns and made them permanent employees of the company.   Furthermore, 14 percent of them have plans in recruiting fall interns to work for them after they finish school.

Get a head start on your career!!  Learn the ins and outs of the industry you’ve been eyeing.  You’ll get a firsthand experience of what “work” is all about and experience the “real” world!

Have your resume ready and register on the box provided above.  FCS is here to give you instant access on numerous internship opportunities!
